If you become qualified as a plumber, plumbing service technician, maintenance plumber or pipe-fitter under this program, there won't be much you can't do. You'll learn to install and repair plumbing in residential, commercial and industrial buildings. Specifically, this program will provide you with the knowledge necessary to perform plumbing tasks in service and repair such as cross-connections for water, waste disposal, drainage, or gas systems. It also will get you ready to work in new construction. Your remodeling skills will be sharpened as well, as you learn how to professionally install fixtures like bathtubs, toilets, appliances and water heaters.
As a student of this program, you will not only learn about the most modern technologies, but you will train with the latest tools and equipment. You'll also enjoy the small class sizes that enable you to learn more in courses like Introduction to code and theory, Safety regulations, Cross-connection protection, Blueprints and isometrics, Potable water and gas piping systems, Drain waste and vent systems, Heating systems, Service and repair, Stoppages, Construction technology and Estimating.
As a graduate, you'll be able to use computers to create blueprints and plan layouts, follow building plans or blueprints and instructions from supervisors, lay out jobs, and work efficiently with the materials and tools of the trade.
