The front office can include anything from scheduling patients and greeting them when they arrive, while the back office can include checking patient vital signs and administering ECG’s. You will take courses in Patient/Human Relations, Principles of Patient Care, Medical Office Procedures, Pharmacology, and more!
The Associate Degree program will take you through specialty medical and lab procedures. This includes the areas of radiology, microbiology, and urinalysis. You can also develop strong business skills in the areas of marketing, finance, accounting, human relations, project management, and strategic planning. This will help you to perform more business-oriented tasks within the medical office.
Both the diploma and degree program require you to complete a 160-hour externship where you put your learning into practice and gain work experience in a real health care setting. This can help you secure a job that much faster upon graduation. You could work in a physician’s office, health care center, clinic, hospital, or other facility in need of medical assisting services.
