Your first step is to join the Automotive Technology Associate Degree program at Westwood College. This is where you can receive a fast track, career focused education. Through current technology, instruction, and hands-on practice, you will learn to work with cars, diagnose and solve problems, and connect with other people who love cars just as much as you do!
The instructors at Westwood College are experienced professionals. With their expert guidance, you will fine-tune your skills in a 7000 square foot automotive shop. You will learn current automotive engine technology on industry standard equipment. You will take classes in Automotive Electricity, Automotive Engine Rebuilding, Automotive Brake Systems, and Manual Transmissions and Drive Trains.
A portion of the program also allows you to work on a real vehicle and remove, rebuild, and reinstall the engine. You will fully understand line and unit systems including fuel delivery, brake ignition, suspension, and electric temperature control systems. You will graduate the program fully equipped to diagnose, service, and conduct minor and major engine repairs. You can also sit for ASE certification exams in multiple areas.
