In this program you will learn the competencies required of a medical office administrator. Also, a good working knowledge of medical terminology will enable you to identify, then code a diagnosis using the ICD-9 (International Classification of Disease Volume 9) and accurately report medical services and procedures using CPT (Current Procedural Terminology). In addition, you will be able to employ widely used computer software programs in order to accomplish these tasks in the work place.
In the second phase of this course you will learn to process and pay medical and dental claims according to contract provisions including coordination of benefits and stop loss.
