More Information...
GIS goes beyond traditional automated mapping techniques to facilitate flexible use of electronic data formats, powerful analysis capabilities with relational databases, and extended analysis functions to accomplish address-matching, raster analysis, and 3-D vector terrain representation.
Participants will master the core functionality of ArcView GIS software (ESRI) as well as several extension programs for spatial (raster) and 3-D (vector) analysis. Class sessions combine conceptual overviews with structured hands-on experience completing tasks using the software. Participants will create, edit, display, query, and analyze geographic and tabular data and create maps and charts suitable for presentations.
The Geographic Information System course is 100 hours, evening and weekend classes are available, and textbooks are furnished. A technical background is a prerequisite for the Geographic Information System course.
The Geographic Information System training course is ideal for designers, drafters, architects, engineers, planners, surveyors, technicians, and other technical professionals
