Computer Aided Drafting - CAD Training
The Westech College Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) training course emphasizes computer technology as currently used in the industry. Students begin by learning the principals of board drafting, after which they are taught how to transfer these principals and procedures to computer-based programs, systems and methodologies. Graduates will be able to productively use computer hardware and CAD software to accomplish workplace tasks in drafting.

The CAD training program takes the beginning student, with no knowledge of drafting or computers, through board drafting, math review, AutoCAD/MicroStation, math review, AutoCAD/MicroStation, and Portfolio project. It is designed to provide the student with the skills needed to obtain employment as an entry-level computer-aided drafter.
Westech College's CAD training program lasts 30 weeks and includes the following required classes:
- Principals of Drafting (with technical math as needed)
- Computer Procedures
- AutoCAD
- MicroStation
