Vatterott College Heating, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration
The Heating, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration program at Vatterott College is your ticket to beginning a career as an HVAC Service Mechanic. You will start out by learning electrical theory. This includes Ohms Law, series and parallel circuits, transformers, and residential wiring. You will then move into HVAC specific training.
The refrigeration portion includes training in installation and troubleshooting techniques. You will learn about evaporators, condensers, and cold weather controls. The air conditioning training addresses installing, wiring, servicing, and troubleshooting. Within the heating courses, you will learn how to troubleshoot problems in fossil fuel equipment, such as gas furnaces. You will also look at heat pumps and condensing furnaces.
The final portion of the program takes you through the commercial HVAC field. This includes compressors, coolers, and freezers. You can also develop expertise with domestic fridges, freezers, and icemakers. You can get ready for a career that will keep you busy year-round!
