Vatterott College Environmental Systems Technology
The Environmental Systems Technology program at Vatterott College can provide you with expansive HVAC knowledge. It can help you secure a career as a technician within large office buildings, hospitals, steam plant operation companies, and refrigeration and other service companies.
You will begin by learning the fundamentals of electricity, along with how to troubleshoot problems in relation to HVAC systems. You will look at refrigeration and pipefitting, including service procedures, and safety and environmental issues. You will also learn how to service, charge, and troubleshoot residential and small commercial air conditioning systems. You will be shown how to analyze HVAC requirements for residential and small commercial buildings.
The program can also familiarize you with domestic heating systems, such as gas, electric, and oil. You will be shown how computer-aided drafting is used for HVAC drawings. A final portion of your training will cover energy management systems for small and large commercial buildings. This can prepare you for a range of careers within the HVAC field.
