You will first learn basic Windows XP and DOS techniques, as well as HTML using FrontPage. You will explore how the programming cycle can be used to solve business problems. You then jump into database management systems, including architecture and interface operating systems. You will design a database using Microsoft SQL Server.
The degree program introduces you to the fundamentals of networking, object oriented programming, and scripting languages. You will be shown how to understand UNIX through the use of Linux. You are also shown Visual Basic.NET. A final portion of the degree curriculum teaches you how to create strong web sites using Dreamweaver and other Macromedia tools.
The diploma option offers the same areas of study as the degree, but focuses more on building your familiarity with Microsoft Office technology with the goal of reaching the "help desk" level. The diploma curriculum can also teach you how to install, maintain, and repair PC’s and their devices. The range of skills you learn can help you gain various certifications. This includes MS Office Specialist, Sun Certified Java Programmer, and CompTIA A+.
