You will start with the medical assisting basics. This includes understanding of medical terminology, diseases, and disorders. You will acquire administrative skills needed to maintain a medical office, including inventory control and filing procedures. You will also become familiar with CPT coding, and accounts payable and receivable.
You will also learn how to perform clinical procedures, such as injections and urinanalysis. The advanced side of the program will teach you about the major systems within the human body. You will take a detailed look at microorganisms, including their function, behavior, and infection process. You will also learn how to take and develop x-rays for all parts of the body.
The final portion of the program is a 320-hour externship. You will get to take the skills you learn and actually apply them in a real work environment. This will help you easily move into your career within a hospital, medical clinic or office, and more!
