If you have a passion for natural health and want to learn the traditions of Classic Chinese Medicine (CCM), the Acupuncture Bachelor of Professional Studies/Master of Science Degree program can prepare you for the fulfilling career you desire.
The Swedish Institute will start by giving you a solid background in the philosophical and psychological aspects of Acupuncture, as well as the history of this healing art for a full understanding of the techniques used today. The comprehensive curriculum also covers the 12 Primary Meridians, as well as the Secondary Channels, including The Luo Vessels, The Eight Extraordinary Vessels, The Divergent Meridians, and The Sinew Channels.
The clinical portion of the program commences in the fourth semester, where you will gain plenty of hands-on experience in the on-site Yu Wen Clinic, as well as the off-campus clinic, The Wellness Center. The clinics will give you the opportunity to interact directly with patients, and put a variety of Acupuncture techniques into practical use. You will graduate with the required knowledge and skills to pass National Certification Commission of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM) examinations.
