Community Mental Health & Addictions Worker

This comprehensive program features a curriculum created in partnership with industry agencies involved with mental health and addictions, and is held within a classroom in the Portland Hotel Society Station Street Housing Project. The topics you will study include theories of addiction, concurrent disorders, youth homelessness, psychosocial rehabilitation, and life skills mentoring. You can also gain a solid knowledge of drug policies, national housing strategies, government agencies and resources, and much more.
In addition, Stenberg College can give you plenty of opportunities to gain real-life experience through integrated observational experiences and job shadowing, as well as a four-week, 160-hour practicum within a community or mental health setting.
