SOUTHWESTERN COLLEGE Medical Assisting Training
The Southwestern College medical assisting programs are designed to train a medical assistant to work with and under the direction of a physician in patient care and administrative aspects in various medical settings. The student will learn clinical techniques including examining room procedures, obtaining vital signs and medical histories, performing routine laboratory procedures, sterilizing and maintaining equipment, CPR, and first aid.
Upon completion of a medical assisting program, students will be prepared to work in a physician’s office, hospital, laboratory, or other medical setting.
