Medical Assistant

Southwest Florida College’s Medical Assistant program will expose you to both the administrative and clinical aspects of the modern health care environment.

Emphasis is placed on medical theory and terminology as well as on teaching you the practices and procedures associated with the operation of a health care facility. You will also learn in the College's clinical laboratory classes where you can apply the knowledge you've studied and further your training in real-world scenarios.

When you successfully complete the program, you can pursue entry-level employment as a medical assistant with private physicians, health clinics, hospitals and nursing homes.
