The South College - Knoxville Elementary Education (K-6) program leads to a Bachelor of Science degree and an initial Tennessee teaching license in elementary education for grades K-6. A comprehensive program of study integrates a general education core, a professional education core, and an academic major that prepares candidates to meet the academic and developmental needs of all K-6 students.

Post-Baccalaureate Teacher Licensing Program K-6
The Post-Baccalaureate Teacher Licensing Program K-6 at South College - Knoxville is designed for individuals who currently hold a bachelor degree in any major and desire a Tennessee teaching license for kindergarten through grade 6. Students will obtain skills and knowledge related to elementary teaching. This will be put into practice through 2 placements that are 15-weeks each. The first placement involves teaching in kindergarten through grade 3 and the second is grade 4 through 6. This can effectively prepare students to become elementary teachers within Tennessee.
