Phlebotomy/EKG Technician
Northeast Technical Institute developed the Phlebotomy/EKG program to meet the need for cross-trained health care professionals. Throughout the program, emphasis is placed on the safe practice of collecting adequate and correct blood specimens. You will also learn correct and accurate EKG tracing and cardiac monitoring.
At the end of the program, you should be able to successfully collect specimens with venipunctures, skin punctures, and EKG tracings. You may also have the option of engaging in an 80-hour clinical externship to further practice these skills and acquire appropriate work habits. This will fully prepare you to become a vital member of a health care team.
