    The Associate of Science program in Criminal Justice prepares students academically and professionally for entry-level positions in the criminal justice field as correction officers, law enforcement officers, probation officers, private security personnel, and parole officers. The curriculum provides a broad knowledge of the criminal justice system, methods, techniques, procedures and technologies and is designed to offer a balance of theory and application that will prove useful in the field.     Health Information Technology (Medical Coding)

    The objective of the Health Information Technology (Medical Coding) program is to prepare the student for entry-level employment opportunities as medical information coders, medical insurance specialists, medical insurance processors and other medical administrative positions. Students are trained to perform duties using coding systems to classify medical data. Computer based medical software and industry recognized word processing software is utilized in our training. Students are trained to work with third party payers using uniform billing practices.

    Medical Assisting

    The objective of the Medical Assisting program is to provide the graduate with the knowledge and ability to perform various administrative and clinical procedures, in a medical office, clinic or health care facility at the entry level. The student is trained to carry out clinical procedures such as recording vital signs, conducting routine lab procedure, basic diagnostic procedure, EKG’s and phlebotomy. Administratively, the student is trained in front office procedures such as greeting patients, computer operation, filing, billing, scheduling and insurance claims.

    Pharmacy Technology

    The Associate of Science Pharmacy Technology program is designed to provide you with the knowledge and skills to work in a retail or hospital pharmacy, or other pharmacy setting. You will learn to effectively assist the pharmacist and may provide medications and other healthcare products to customers or patients. Your responsibilities will vary depending on the facility you work with. You will learn through classroom lectures, a mock lab setting, and will then complete a 160-hour externship in a real pharmacy setting. Completion of this program allows you to sit for the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board exam. You will be prepared to work in a hospital, nursing care facility, retail or wholesale pharmacy, a drug manufacturer, or HMO.

    The Associate of Science Surgical Technology program prepares you to become a member of a surgical team.
