The NFI barber styling program offers training in the techniques and arts as they relate to hair cutting, shaving, massages, facial treatments, and trimming and styling the beard or mustache. Barbering focuses on shaving procedures, men’s hair cutting, grooming and razor cutting.

Barber Styling students are trained in the basic skills required to perform barber duties and the theory. Students perform services in the salon clinic and on classroom mannequins. Students study the Florida State Laws governing the practices of barbering as well as the theory related to entry-level shop work. Students will complete the necessary requirements in order to meet the basic competencies for the examination required by Florida State Board of Barbering.
