Globe University Minnesota School of Business
Veterinary Technician Program
Turn your love for animals into a rewarding and diversified career as a Veterinary Technician. Veterinary Technicians fill an important role in a veterinary office, attending to a variety of tasks on behalf of clients, patients and veterinarians. Their duties include assisting veterinarians during surgery and examinations, providing nursing care, dispensing medication, attending to front office reception and providing pet-care information to clients. Veterinary Technicians might also advance into other related careers such as veterinary office supervisors, animal caretakers, wildlife animal rehabilitators or humane society workers.
Minnesota School of Health Sciences (MSHS)*, can train you as a Veterinary Technician in as little as 6 quarters (1 1 /2 years). In addition, you will also be required to complete a 300 hour externship in a veterinary clinic to gain real world experience to enhance your employability. Your externship will typically include hands-on training assisting veterinarians with examinations and treatments, assisting in surgery, radiology and patient care and performing office and laboratory procedures.
Minnesota School of Health Sciences' Veterinary Tech programs have a condensed format, so you can complete the program and achieve your goals as quickly as possible. And MSHS's Veterinary Tech program is taught by dedicated industry professionals in smaller class sizes, to help assure you of the individual attention you need.
