The Los Angeles Recording School
Hollywood, California
Since 1985, The Los Angeles Recording School (LARS) has been providing hands-on recording engineering training from their state-of-the-art campus in Hollywood, California - the entertainment capital of the world.
At LARS, the industry-experienced faculty can teach you the ins and outs of creating, recording, and mixing music. You can also benefit from small class sizes, ensuring you receive maximum time using the industry-current gear, as well as full access to the instructors.
You can also enjoy visits from guest speakers. Past speakers at LARS have included former Vice President of A & R Records Don Gierson, music producer and recording engineer Skip Saylor, and motion picture music editor Joe E. Rand. All at the top of their respective fields, these industry leaders have worked with artists including The Beatles, Joe Cocker, Eminen, and Foo Fighters, as well as contributed to such films as Titanic, The Matrix Reloaded, and World Trade Center.
LARS also supports students outside of the classroom, with financial aid, available to those who qualify, and the services of a Career Development Department, who can help you hone your interpersonal and professional skills, provide job leads, and even help secure internships.
LARS graduates have received internships and jobs with studios, record labels, live venues, and artists, such as Will Smith, Snoop Dog, Capitol Records, Sony, Warner Records, BMI, House of Blues, Whiskey A Go-Go, MTV, and Henson Studios.
