As with most fields, computers have become an important part of daily activity. The criminal justice program includes courses in software applications to provide students with personal computer experience. An optional office internship is available to students, allowing them additional experience in a professional setting. This is valuable experience when making the transition from the classroom to the workplace. In addition to the criminal justice course study, the program stresses personal and professional development. Our program focuses on developing a positive self-image, assessing competitive strengths, understanding career expectations, developing job search techniques, preparing resumes, and improving written skills.
Graduates of the criminal justice program at Las Vegas College may secure employment in the criminal justice system as a counselor, juvenile parole or correctional officer, private investigator, social worker, or case worker.
