Elementary Education
Keiser University’s Bachelor of Science in Education provides instruction in the area of elementary education with infused ESOL (English to Speakers of Other Languages).
The program is presented in two phases.
The first phase, referred to as the lower division, provides a good foundation that directly enhances the student’s ability to successfully complete the Education degree and enhances the graduate’s ability to teach different subject areas in their classroom. In the lower division, the Education courses are designed to introduce the student to the basics of teaching, utilization of technology in the classroom, and teaching diverse classrooms with a strong understanding of multiculturalism.
The upper division courses concentrate on preparing the student to teach in the elementary education classroom. Courses presented will include teaching of different subject areas, learning to create curriculum, understanding educational assessment, managing the classroom, teaching reading and literacy, developing ESOL strategies for the classroom and participating in clinical and internship experiences in the field.
All of the education courses are in alignment with Florida Department of Education’s requirements for the Elementary Education degree.
