The Diagnostic Medical Sonography program includes an introduction to diagnostic medical sonography followed by human anatomy, physiology, and pathology. Various aspects of sonography are covered such as abdominal, OB/GYN, small parts and neuro-sonography with an introduction to vascular sonography. You are on clinical rotation throughout the program.
You learn to obtain, review, and integrate patient history and supporting clinical data to facilitate optimum diagnostic results as well as perform appropriate procedures and record anatomic, pathologic and/or physiologic data for interpretation by a physician.
As a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer, you will exercise discretion and judgment in the performance of sonographic and/or other non-invasive diagnostic services.
