Associate of Science Degree (A.S.)
Build a city without getting your hands dirty
You want a role in constructing impressive man-made landscapes, but you prefer the comfort of an air-conditioned office. And why not? It's not as if modern feats of engineering require thousands of slaves pulling scratchy ropes in the desert sun. These days, the need for manual labor is drastically reduced thanks to computers.
You can learn how to turn your ideas—or someone else's—into digital models and animations that shorten the design cycle and make putting the real things together a lot easier. By earning a degree in Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) from Keiser University, you'll be primed for a career that lets you leave your mark on the world in a very tangible way.
Design. Drafting. Implementation. Learn how to turn imagination into plans for reality using both traditional and hands-on computer-aided design. You'll come to have a working knowledge of the design process used for the architectural, mechanical, civil and structural engineering of commercial and industrial objects. Autodesk's AutoCAD software will be your primary tool as you dig into 3D prototyping and modeling.
By the time you graduate, you'll have learned to operate an industrial computer-aided drafting workstation—demonstrating your CAD skills and eye for detail as you complete a comprehensive design and drafting project.
One day you may look out on the landscape and be able to point to a house, a skyscraper or even a whole city that you helped realize. So take the first step towards drafting your empire!
