The skills of massage therapy focus on methods of palpating soft tissue such as muscle, that have been under stress, or injured. Relieving muscle tension can facilitate energy renewal, increase flexibility, and improve sports
performance among other things. More and more, you will see clients of all ages who recognize the benefit of preventive health care.
Your training will include a variety of massage techniques, including Swedish, sports, deep tissue, reflexology, and hydrotherapy. Your program will focus on knowledge of anatomy and physiology, various types of massage, and an overview of business skills if you wish to explore the option of working for yourself.
Massage employment opportunities are available now in a multitude of medical, recreational, and leisure facilities. Imagine earning your living on a cruise ship, in an athletic club, or teaming up with other professionals in a Sports Medicine or Naturopathic Clinic.
