The purpose of the Medical Assisting program at Everest College is to teach you administrative and clinical procedures. You will become proficient in the areas of patient care and communication; clinical assisting and pharmacology; laboratory procedures; endocrinology and reproduction; and therapeutic care. You are required to complete an externship where you will interact with patients, apply learned principles, and learn the value of excellent organization, communication, and management skills. You could finish the program ready to work in a hospital, clinic, doctor's office, nursing home, medical supply business, home health care agency, insurance company, or pharmaceutical company.
