Everest College designed the Dental Assisting program so you can learn to perform chairside assisting methods, patient procedures, and related office and laboratory tasks under the supervision of a licensed dentist. You will gain knowledge of basic dental sciences, proficiency in laboratory and clinical skills, and practical experience involving specialized skills. You learn about dental radiography, operative dentistry, and dental health. You also complete a 160-hour externship where you interact with patients and apply learned principles and practices. You could complete the program to find opportunities in a dental office, dental supply manufacturer, hospital dental department, or insurance company.
