Electronic Systems Technician
The Electronic Systems Technician program provides broad fundamental training in the principles used to install connect, calibrate, and service products that carry voice, video, audio and data in homes and other structures. As technology grows ever more complicated in the 21st century, knowledge and troubleshooting skills grow more critical. New technologies are expected to continue to stimulate the demand.
Electronic Systems Technician is an entry-level career that enables the student to utilize multiple residential and commercial skills needed in the industries of electronics systems, such as: fiber optics, security systems, computer and related applications, audio/video (home theater), home satellite systems, communications systems and cabling/networking. Students will install and service fire and security alarm systems, telecommunications equipment such as business telephone systems, and computer networks.
The employment objective is entry-level employment as a low-voltage electrician, electronic home entertainment equipment installer and repairer, security and fire alarm systems installer, telecommunications equipment installer and repairer, satellite installer and repairer, and electrical and electronic repairer.
