Digital Filmmaking Certificate
You are an artist, with stories to tell. An interest in using the medium of film has led you to a school which offers comprehensive, professional training for your goals. The Certificate Program in Digital Filmmaking prepares students to become story crafters skilled in all aspects of movie/film creation.
The two term (nine month) Digital Filmmaking course consists of 'modules' which break down the components of film work in practical sessions that can be applied immediately to personal projects, or to set the groundwork for a professional career in preproduction, production, or postproduction.
The first term covers the fundamentals of digital film/movie making.
Attention is given to hands-on training in camera operation, lighting, audio and tape formats as well as some editing and postproduction work. You are secure in the knowledge that the Certificate Program in Digital Filmmaking at this school emphasizes leading edge technology, tools and techniques.
The second term broadens your technical base, while offering opportunities for the pleasure of creative growth. Advanced study in the filmmaking realm includes: cinematic storytelling, directing, cinematography, advanced editing, sound design, special effects, motion graphics, titles, and DVD authoring.
This school has a superior reputation for the Certificate in Digital Filmmaking. The coursework is balanced with real world activity such as lectures by visiting successful filmmakers. Your assignments are done in small crews with ready access to faculty. Weekly sessions cover the history/aesthetics of filmmaking with in-class movie screenings and discussion. The final film project allows you to create a 'calling card'
