About Collins College

Collins College is located in Tempe, Arizona, a city bordered by Phoenix to the West and Scottsdale to the North. Within a mile and a half of the Collins College campus, students can find many activities and attractions, including Arizona State University and Sun Devil Stadium, home of the NFL's Arizona Cardinals. Students find Tempe a fun and active place to live. Shopping, dining, coffeehouses, music & night life are all within a few square miles in Tempe's tourist district known as Mill Avenue.

Arizona is a paradise for activities and recreation. Metropolitan Phoenix, the sixth largest city in the US, offers entertainment, contemporary museums, culture and sporting events. Sports fans are not hard to find in Phoenix! Arizonans enjoy major league baseball with the Diamondbacks, hockey with the Coyotes and basketball with the Phoenix Suns and Mercury, football with the Cardinals, among others. Outdoor enthusiasts can choose to hike, rock-climb or ski in Arizona's alpine country near Flagstaff or East in the White Mountains. Water sports in one of many lakes are also popular with Arizonans, as is golf, cycling, horseback riding and hot air ballooning. Air travel is convenient, as Phoenix's Sky Harbor International Airport is located just a few miles from campus.

Student Services

Library

The library supports the educational needs of the student body by providing a place where students can find up-to-date information on current issues in graphic design, animation, computer network administration, e-commerce, programming and general education. The library contains numerous collections including a reference section, periodical collection, fiction and non-fiction collections, videos, CD-ROM products and equipment. Computers, Internet access, printers and a photocopier are available for student's use.


Learning Center

The learning Center was designed to provide students with peer tutoring assistance. Tutoring is available to students who may need supplemental instruction on any subject in the curriculum. Students desiring tutoring assistance should contact the Department Chair of their program. This service is available at no additional cost. Additional instructor - based tutoring is available on Friday.


Mentoring

The Mentor Program was designed to provide students with someone to go to for advice and guidance regarding career matters and concerns. Members of the faculty serve as mentors because of their professional expertise as well as their diverse backgrounds. Their feedback has proven to be very beneficial.


Student Advising

The Department Chair Student Services is available to advise students if personal problems occur. When necessary, referrals to outside agencies may be made. All students are encouraged to meet with the Department Chair Student Services when assistance is needed.


School Store

Supplies are made available on campus at a discounted price for the convenience of our students. Individual items needed to complete assignments required for graduation, including portfolio cases, may be ordered through the School Store.


Production Center

The school maintains an in-house "service bureau" where students can print out their graphics assignments. Direct, digital, color or black & white copies can be made.
