Careers in Fashion Design, Fashion Marketing & More!
Sourcing
There are many decisions to make when designing a garment, and once the designers have chosen the trends that they would like to utilize, someone must find the materials.
Sourcing materials such as fabrics, threads, buttons, zippers, trims, or other notions is usually the job of the production or design assistant. This may seem like an easy task, but take into consideration that this means working within a budget while meeting the desires of the target market. Sourcing can entail finding the perfect pair of buttons for a custom tailored jacket or locating ten thousand zippers for a mass-produced pair of trousers.
If you are resourceful, good with numbers and like solving problems, a career in fashion design sourcing may be for you.
