The garment is now complete but where will it be sold?
Some companies hire in-house fashion designers and production staff to ship the product directly to their own stores. However, independent fashion design companies often show their products at apparel trade shows, which are attended by fashion buyers. These fashion buyers pick and choose the garments that will be hanging on the racks of the stores they represent each season.
Fashion buying is a popular career for fashion design students because fashion buyers can have a huge impact on creating or influencing trends and have the fabulous job of shopping for a living.
