Event Planning Program
In the Event Planning program, you'll get an overview of what it takes to manage and publicize events. You'll gain knowledge of how to work with vendors including caterers, florists, and rental companies, and you'll discuss the correct methods to spread the word about the event — including insight on advertising and community relations.
The Event Planning program focuses on educating students in all areas encountered in the expanding and competitive events industry. Topics covered include leadership, risk management, public relations, and marketing, as well as the entire event planning cycle from pre-production and implementation to postproduction and effectiveness measurement.
You will also be introduced to the hospitality, tourism, conference, convention, and festival industries. Graduates are prepared to seek entry-level employment in positions such as event planner for a trade or tourism association, convention centre, non-profit organization, government agency, hotel or event planning company.
